Where the 5mg Dose Fits
The 5 mg dose of retatrutide is not a standard dose in the TRIUMPH clinical protocol, which uses a stepped titration of 2 mg, 4 mg, 8 mg, and 12 mg. The 5 mg dose falls between the established escalation points and may be used by individuals who find 4 mg insufficient but are not ready to move to 8 mg. The Phase 2 data provides context for what to expect at this dose level: weight loss of approximately 17-19% at 48 weeks, based on interpolation between the 4 mg dose (15-17%) and the 8 mg dose (20-22%).
Dosing the 5mg from a 10mg Vial
To administer a 5 mg dose from a 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water (5 mg/mL concentration), draw 1.0 mL or 100 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe. This is a full syringe. For a 20 mg vial reconstituted with 4 mL of water (maintaining the same 5 mg/mL concentration), the same 1.0 mL or 100 units provides a 5 mg dose. Users who prefer custom dosing between the established protocol points should ensure accurate measurement and consistent timing of doses.
